LOC HAPPY WITH FACILITIES AHEAD NIGERIA
2007
The Local Organising Committee of the Nigeria 2009 U-17 World Cup
has hailed functioning competition in the mine centres set to host
the cadet competition. Six of the Wins Centres will eventually host
the U-17 World Football event. Chief Executive Officers of the
Nigeria 2009 LOC, Menisara Illo, said on Friday that the body was
happy to have developed nine stadiums in the state.

Nigeria’s
hope of competing in the Algeria 2009 U-17 African Championship, was
dashed last Sunday following their 3 – 0 bashing in the hands of the
young squirrels of Benin Republic in Cotonou.
The Golden Eaglets went into the match with a 2 – 0 advantage, but
were however shadow of themselves in the return leg, leaving the
benenoise to dominate the stage from the blast of the whistle.
The host superiority was not in doubt as they finished their
visitors on the counters.
